I admire how the United Way focuses on building better futures, that it ensures donations are invested in organizations that have meaningful impacts on the people in our communities.
For decades, I have supported the United Way because I can be confident that support will be directed in ways that make a measurable difference.
For all these reasons and more, I am delighted and honoured to serve as Campaign Chair for the United Way Saint John, Kings & Charlotte this year.
With the onset of the pandemic, the United Way is playing an even more vital role for the organizations that support the most vulnerable in our communities. We witnessed that in poignant ways amid the uncertainty brought by COVID-19, along with the incredible generosity of donors who understood the critical need.
Although today we see the grip of the pandemic easing, the need for support is not. We know that our most vulnerable populations will continue to need a helping hand, and the setbacks brought on by the impact of the pandemic could mean that the road to a better future will be longer for them.
The stories below are inspirational – testaments to the incredible difference donating to the United Way can make on individual lives. We know many more can be reached, that much more can be done.
We know that together we can make the Saint John, Kings and Charlotte region stronger.
