They say that home is where the heart is.
I was raised in Charlotte County, lived in Montreal for 20 years, then settled in Quispamsis with my husband and children.
I have loved every community I’ve lived in and I found a home, and a heart, in them all.
Every community has its own rhythm, its own heartbeat. And every person living in that community helps to keep it alive, vibrant and healthy.
At United Way, we believe in strong, healthy communities for all. Sometimes people in our community need a little support. Life can get hard and not everyone has family and friends they can reach out to.
But the community can be their family – the heart of the community can provide the safe spaces and support to uplift each other.
As we enter the holiday season, many community members are needing some extra support. Please remember kindness and compassion in your daily routines.
United Way, through our amazing funded partners, has supported thousands of people in communities throughout Saint John, Kings and Charlotte counties in 2021, and we remain committed to continue creating caring communities where people feel loved, supported, and empowered as we move into 2022.
As 2021 comes to a close, we would love you to consider giving to your community through a donation to United Way Saint John, Kings & Charlotte.
We will ensure that your Local Love is felt and the heart of every community stays strong.
All the best to you and your families, wherever your heart and home find themselves, this holiday season.
With gratitude,
Alexya Heelis
