For many people in our community, being warm in winter and having clothing year-round is a struggle. How can you focus on a future when you do not have appropriate clothing for you and your children throughout our various seasonal climates?
That’s why many non-profits maintain clothing closets for their clients to access year-round. Providing clothing is part of a suite of wrap-around services that work to help individuals and families succeed through education, employment and training -things that will create long-term impact.
But maintaining a clothing closet is not easy. It takes a lot of organization and non-profits often don’t have the capacity to store large amounts of off-season clothing. That’s why we have specific clothing drives throughout the year – warm clothing in Fall and lighter clothes in Spring.
Through this United Way special initiative, you can help local non-profits provide clothing to clients and their families as they need it, when they need it.
