‘A great opportunity to give back’

Andi Levesque didn’t hesitate to volunteer for the United Way during the Area 506 Festival this summer.

“It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves, the bands and, as a bonus, help a great cause,” she said of her second time as a volunteer at the event.

Explained Kelli Lowe: “Volunteering for the United Way was a great opportunity to give back to the community I live in! I would recommend it to anyone.”

Thanks to more than 100 volunteers who gave selflessly of their time and energy, United Way was able to raise more than $30,000 during the Area 506 Festival and the Memorial Cup this summer.

Together, the volunteers gave more than 1,200 hours of their time to work the events and collect donations that will support United Way programs and services.

To show our appreciation for them, we compiled this video: https://youtu.be/1UgHP9bZqN0. We’re so grateful for all they have done for United Way – and, in turn, for their communities.
