Haley Earle will be eternally grateful to Ability New Brunswick – crediting the United Way funded organization for helping her graduate from the paralegal program at Eastern College in Fredericton.
“That was the first big step: they got me through college. I’ve been working with them ever since,” the Sussex-area woman says.
The help Haley received was part of Ability NB’s Transition NB program, funded in part by United Way Saint John, Kings & Charlotte. That program helps young people with a mobility disability reach their education and career goals.
After graduation, Ability NB helped her secure a laptop and update her resume and cover letter. She’s also benefited from its equipment loan program, borrowing both a sit-ski for para-skiing and a hand cycle to help her stay active.
“Ability NB means a lot to people with a mobility disability in New Brunswick. What they’ve done for me, I can’t compare to anything, honestly,” Haley says. “They’ve been one of the biggest supports in my life.”
