Before Sonya started programs at the Saint John Women’s Empowerment Network, she felt like a lost soul. At every turn, she was desperate to hide from others, from life.
She felt like she didn’t know how to speak up for herself.
The Healthy Self-Esteem program brought about healing, self-acceptance and a desire for personal growth.
She never thought of herself as a priority but that changed with Power Up, a program that helped her be more comfortable around others without fearing she was being constantly judged.
Today, she carries the strength of greater confidence. She wants to get involved in the community, go back to work, and continue to improve herself through additional programs offered by the Saint John Learning Exchange.
