Your support breaks the cycle of domestic violence!

I arrived in Canada June 2016. By September, I was at Second Stage Safe Haven because of a severe physical attack by my husband. I spent 3 months dealing with post traumatic stress, learning about healthy relationships, and I started making goals and plans for my life. My first goal was to get an education so my child and I would not be in danger because I did not have the money. I went to and graduated from NBCC. I found full time work, but it was not what I was looking for. While working, I kept looking and found the perfect job for me. I love my job and make $45,000. That may not sound like a lot, but to me it’s a fortune and it is safety. I have bought a car and I have just moved into an apartment I can afford. I am now saving for a down payment for a house and my mortgage is already approved. I arrive in Canada only to have my dreams for a better life for my daughter and I destroyed. With the help of my new family and friends in Canada, I have begun to have hopes and dreams again and now they are coming true.
