I am a single Mom with one son. I had to leave a very abusive relationship to protect my son. I needed time to heal, to focus on my son and to figure out my next steps. Enter Power Up. I started this program and everything started to change. I built a support system, I made new friends, I learned about what was out there that could help me and my son. I learned about what it means to work. MOse importantly I learned more about myself, I gained confidence in myself. I now know how to let my light shine and I have had great success. From Power UP I went to NBCC and graduated with my Early Childhood Education degree and now I’m working full time in my field. That’s the Power of Power UP!
