Amy was pregnant and alone, living in her car on the streets of Saint John.
In her desperate circumstances, she turned to Outflow Ministry, a charity that works with people in Saint John who live in poverty by helping to address unemployment, hunger, homelessness, and medical costs.
Outflow, a United Way funded partner, was able to help her achieve her own goals of finding an apartment before her baby arrived and retrieving her furniture from a storage unit.
Even after achieving those, Amy continued to join Outflow for meals and to check-in regularly with staff to help manage stress, financial setbacks and to connect with support services available for a pregnant mother.
Thanks to the support of United Way donors and Outflow, Amy and her child have the opportunity for a life of hope and promise.
